HOW WE MET... ACCORDING TO THE BRIDE...

Place: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, San Dimas Sub-Station
It was a hot July day in the San Gabriel Valley when I met Phil. Phil, working for KTLA-TV, was sent to a news conference. At the time, I worked as a general assignment reporter for KNX 1070 (CBS Newsradio).
We were both sent by our news stations to cover a press conference about foster kids who took off in their foster family’s car. After spending several hours waiting for updates throughout the day, we gradually got to know each other in-between my live shots!
In the late afternoon, the sheriff’s department held a final presser (aka press conference), revealing that the foster kids had been found in Oklahoma. After filing stories, we exchanged phone numbers, making plans for our first date on the next day.
And that, my friends, was the beginning of a beautiful relationship!
